Board Meeting
November 9, 2008
The meeting was called to order at 2:00pm by Larry Eskridge. Other Board Members in attendance were Tammy Weaver, Sara Mathis, Randy Weaver, Jordan Vandermeer, Ron Bunner, Kathi Vandermeer, Larry Eskridge, Caleb Sudyam, Hannah Klein and Phyllis Vandermeer. Shelby Courtois & Kelsey Bunner were present. Liz Pollitt was present. Phyllis Vandermeer said the prayer.
Larry Eskridge motioned to approve the October meeting minutes as is. Voice vote approved.
Business Manager, Liz Pollitt
Liz Pollitt said the bank balance is $3001.76. She just received Cassie Valentin’s bills, so it will be a bit less. Discussed Cassie Valentin’s bill for pizza for the cast. Tammy Weaver will put a note in with the director’s fee indicating that we don’t reimburse for food. Randy Weaver motioned to have Liz pay the bills as presented. Ron Bunner seconded it. Voice vote approved. Randy Weaver motioned to accept the business report. Caleb Sudyam seconded it. Voice vote approved.
Old Business:
Randy Weaver introduced Garrett Slevin. He has proposed to get our website in working order. He gave us several package options from which to choose. Jordan Vandermeer, Ron Bunner & Randy Weaver will discuss our options & report back in December. Jordan will get needed information from Cindy Arnett.
Suggestion was made to ask John Grant to come back on the Board and/or be in charge of Program Ad Sales. Randy Weaver motioned & Caleb Sudyam seconded it. Voice vote approved.
From Larry Eskridge:
Larry will ask John Harmon to come back on the Board. Tammy Weaver motioned & Jordan Vandermeer seconded it. Voice vote approved.
Jim & Sue Lafary will be Barn Managers next season.
Sue will contact Hicks’ Gas regarding the tank & any leakage issues.
Only things left with barn closing are the sign & the clavinova. Larry said that Carol Davis may use the clavinova for the February SRC production.
Larry initiated a round table discussion about why each of us is serving. We all shared our reasons.
Again, outreach was discussed using publicity with Peoria Players, Many Lights Productions and other publications. Suggestion was made to have a winter season again. Fundraiser suggestion of spaghetti dinner w/raffle or battle of the bands.
Larry would like to see something unusual for the 50th season. He also discussed that we should continue to think about another location.
There is still only one submittal for next season, from Randy Weaver.
Kathi Vandermeer has $500 donation from State Farm that she received for her volunteer efforts. She would like the money to go for new patron benches. Jordan Vandermeer will check into the options at Farm King.
December 14th at 1:30pm is the next meeting.
